Quality Control System

The quality control of sponge titanium runs through the entire process from raw material procurement to finished product delivery, establishing a four level inspection system: raw material incoming inspection, process monitoring, semi-finished product performance testing, and comprehensive evaluation of finished products. Through this system, it ensures that the chemical composition, physical properties, and structural characteristics of sponge titanium products meet the standard requirements.

Key Quality Control Indicators and Methods

1. Chemical composition control

By combining a direct reading spectrometer with chemical analysis methods, key indicators such as oxygen content (≤ 0.15%), nitrogen content (≤ 0.05%), iron content (≤ 0.15%), and chlorine content (≤ 0.12%) are monitored. 32 point sampling is required for each batch of products to ensure uniform distribution of ingredients. Especially for aviation grade products, it is required to strictly control the hydrogen content below 0.012%.

2. Physical performance testing

Establish a complete physical performance testing system:

Brinell hardness testing: Ensure control within the range of 90-115HB.

Particle size distribution analysis: Use standard screening method to ensure that the proportion of 0.83-12.7mm specifications is ≥ 80%

Bulk density test: maintain a reasonable range of 1.2-1.5g/cm ³.

Observation of pore structure: By scanning electron microscopy analysis, ensure that the porosity is between 35-50%.

3. Microstructure evaluation

Key focus of metallographic examination:

Pore morphology and distribution uniformity.

Grain size and morphology characteristics.

Segregation of impurity elements.

Thickness control of oxide layer.
