For components that need to operate stably at high temperatures for long periods, TA7 (Ti-5Al-2.5Sn), an all-α type titanium alloy, is a reliable choice.
TA7 is strengthened by solid solution through aluminum (Al) and tin (Sn), and its tensile strength in the annealed state can reach 850-1000 MPa. Its main feature is that its microstructure remains very stable at high temperatures, maintaining relatively high strength even at 500°C, with excellent oxidation and creep resistance. At the same time, it has outstanding weldability, with high weld seam strength and only requiring simple stress-relief annealing after welding. However, α alloys generally cannot be strengthened through quenching.

Thanks to its excellent thermal stability and weldability, TA7 is often used to manufacture structural components long-operating below 500°C, such as aircraft engine compressor cases and aircraft skin panels, as well as ultralow-temperature containers. TA6 (with a composition similar to TA7) also belongs to this category and performs excellently in the medium temperature range of 400-500°C.
