Zelda Metallurgical Production Joint Company dates back to 1933 as Moscow Plant No. 45, founded on July 1, 1933, in the suburbs of Moscow. Since its birth, it has shouldered the important task of industrial research and trial production in the field of materials, and is an experimental base for Soviet military materials. From the 60s to the 80s of the 20th century, driven by the Soviet military industry, the company's production capacity and output of titanium materials increased rapidly, with a maximum annual output of 110,000 tons of titanium ingots and 60,000 tons of titanium production. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the company began to shift its sales targets to Boeing in the United States and Airbus in Europe, becoming one of the main suppliers of these two major airlines.
Avisma Titanium and Magnesium Joint Venture Co., Ltd., formerly known as the Podolsk Chemical-Metallurgical Plant, produced the first batch of titanium metal in 1954, built a titanium sponge production workshop in 1959, and produced the first batch of titanium sponge in 1960.
In 2005, under the leadership of the Russian government, the two companies completed the merger and established VSMPO-AVISMA, which became the world's largest titanium metallurgy-processing joint venture.

TOHO TITANIUM CO. LTD) was established in 1953 by Nippon Mining Co., Ltd. (now Nippon Mining Group), Osaka Special Steel Works (now Osaka Titanium Technology Co., Ltd.), and Daiichi Price Co., Ltd. (now Mitsui & Co., Ltd.).
