Gr.12 titanium rod is a nearly alpha type titanium alloy with added molybdenum (Mo) and nickel (Ni) on the basis of industrial pure titanium. This alloying design significantly improves the corrosion resistance and strength in reducing media while maintaining good processing performance and corrosion resistance of pure titanium, making it particularly suitable for harsh corrosive environments.
Product Introduction
Gr.12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni) titanium alloy rod is a corrosion-resistant titanium alloy developed to improve the crevice corrosion performance of pure titanium. It contains 0.3% Mo and 0.8% Ni, which not only strengthens the alloy, but also has good resistance to crevice corrosion at high temperatures, low pH chlorides or weak reducing acids. Its corrosion resistance is significantly better than that of pure titanium. Gr.12 titanium alloy rod has good process plasticity and welding performance, and has been widely used in the chemical industry.
Product parameters
The density of Gr.12 titanium alloy rod is 4.54g/cm ³, the room temperature elastic modulus is 103~107GPa, the hardness is 180~215HB, and the phase transition point is 890 ℃± 15 ℃. Excellent corrosion resistance. Nickel enhances the resistance of titanium to crevice corrosion in hydrochloric acid solution, but in reducing acids, the corrosion resistance of Ti Ni alloy is actually lower than that of pure titanium. Adding molybdenum appropriately to Ti Ni alloys can improve their corrosion resistance in reducing media.

Advantages and Applications of Gr.12 Titanium Alloy Rod
Anti crevice corrosion: The synergistic effect of Mo and Ni significantly improves the corrosion resistance in hydrochloric acid, chloride, and weak reducing acids, with a better effect than pure.
Gr.12 titanium alloy bar advantages and applications
Applicable medium: Suitable for organic compounds, alkaline solutions, salt solutions, and low concentration inorganic acids, but should be carefully evaluated in high concentration/high temperature acidic environments
Processing performance: Retains the excellent cold and hot formability of pure titanium, suitable for forging, rolling and other processes, and can customize bar materials and complex shaped forgings.
Weldability: No heat treatment is required after welding, and the weld strength matches the substrate well, making it suitable for welding structures in chemical equipment.
Lightweight and Strength: The specific strength (strength/density ratio) exceeds that of high-quality steel, making it suitable for high-pressure equipment that requires weight reduction, such as heat exchanger tubes.
