Titanium 15333 aerospace-grade plate is a metastable β titanium alloy with excellent cold formability and age-hardening capability, with a maximum tensile strength of over 1300 MPa. Plates with a thickness ≤ 4.0 mm are usually supplied in coil/plate form, while those with a thickness > 4.0 mm are supplied as cut-to-size plates. Titanium 15333 aerospace-grade plate is a high-strength, high-toughness β titanium alloy plate, with a nominal chemical composition of Ti-15Mo-3Al-3Nb-3Cr. Through alloy design incorporating multiple β-stabilizing elements, this material has important applications in aerospace, high-end medical devices, and other fields, particularly suitable for structural components that demand high strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Its core advantages lie in the excellent strength-toughness balance and good cold and hot formability. In the solution and age-hardened state, its tensile strength can reach over 1100 MPa, while its fracture toughness is significantly superior to ordinary α-β titanium alloys. The plate has high microstructural uniformity and low anisotropy, making it suitable for aircraft skin, rocket casings, and orthopedic implants, where fatigue performance and biocompatibility are critical. It also has excellent corrosion resistance and can be stably used in acidic chloride environments for long periods.
Production process
Titanium 15333 aerospace-grade plate is obtained by vacuum self-consumable arc remelting (VAR) to produce ingots with uniform composition. It undergoes β-phase region billet forging and multiple passes of hot rolling–cold rolling–intermediate annealing processes to control plate thickness and uniformity of microstructure. Key procedures include solution treatment above the β-phase transformation temperature to obtain a single β-phase structure, followed by staged aging at 480–520 °C to precipitate fine secondary α-phase, achieving the optimal balance of strength and ductility. The finished plates are leveled, pickled, and ultrasonically inspected to ensure surface quality and internal structure integrity.
